BAWA* Monthly Poetry Reading — U.S. Poets Laureate
This month we are honoring U.S. Poets Laureate, past and present. The U.S. Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry is appointed annually by the Librarian of the United States Congress and serves from October to May. In making the appointment, the Librarian consults with former appointees, the current laureate, and other distinguished personalities in the field. So far, there have been 51 poets who have served in this capacity, beginning in 1937.
This monthly poetry reading series is co-sponsored by BAWA* and the American Poetry Museum.
We hold a reading the first Wednesday of every month from 7-9 pm. All readings are free and open to the public.
